Missionary Practices 2x2
When Jesus first sends his disciples to proclaim the kingdom of God in word and deed, he sends them two by two (Mark 6:7). To raise up a new generation of missionary disciples, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles will encourage three simple missionary practices 2x2: Gospel reflection, prayer, and acts of charity and justice.
Reflecting together on the life and words of Jesus in the Gospels awakens faith and helps us share Him with others. Praying together aloud opens hearts to Jesus. Doing acts of charity and justice together with intentionality shows the love and mercy of Jesus. Engaging in these missionary practices will form hearts for mission and increase confidence in proclaiming the Gospel.

Gospel Reflection 2x2
- Pray
- a simple prayer to the Holy Spirit: "Speak, Lord, your servant is listening."
- Read
- the passage slowly. As you listen, ask in silence, "Lord, what are you saying to me in this passage?"
- Listen
- for a word or phrase that calls your attention or touches your heart.
- Share
- a brief story or experience of how the word or phrase connects to your life at this moment.
- Ask
- in silence, "Lord, what are you asking me to do?" Share what Jesus is inviting you to do.
- Pray

- Call on God
- (Heavenly Father... Lord Jesus... Holy Spirit... Good and gracious God...)
- Praise or thank God for what He has done.
- (We praise you for... We thank you for...)
- Ask God for what you or someone else needs.
- (Bless... Help... Guide... Heal...)
- Conclude in Christ. Amen.
- (We ask this in the name of Jesus... We ask this through Christ our Lord...)
- Call on God

Acts of Charity 2x2
- Eyes
- See situations with the eyes of Jesus
- Heart
- Love Jesus in the person in need.
- Hands
- Give Jesus your hands to do His work.
- Mouth
- Share how you encountered Jesus in this act.
- Eyes
